by B. Howard (Celebration Hymnal for Everyone number 298)
PRIEST - First
Prayer
God our Father, we praise and thank you for your
wonderful gifts. We thank you, especially at this time of
year, for your gifts of fruit, vegetables and wheat. We
make this prayer through Jesus Christ, your Son, who
lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy
Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
YEAR 3 - First Reading
Here Paul is urging us to share what we have together,
especially with those who are in need.
Dear Friends
What God wants is that we share what we have together. If
we've got more than we really need now and others are in
need, we must help them; but we shall share what he has
given us - and share alike.
This is the Word of the Lord.
YEAR 2 - Choral Poem - Farmer, is the
harvest ready? by H. Wilkinson (in the Oxford Reading
Tree scheme, read in two groups - for questions and
answers)

YEAR 4 - Offertory Procession
1. We bring the bread.
Jesus said, "I am the bread of life.
He who comes to me will never be hungry.
He who believes in me will never be thirsty.
2. We bring the wine.
Jesus said, "I am the vine. You are the branches.
If your friendship with me is a real friendship, it will
bear a great harvest.
3. We bring the water.
David said about God, "You soften the soil with
showers and cause the young plants to grow.
What a rich harvest your goodness provides!
4. We bring a harvest gift.
"We must help the weak, Paul said, remembering the
words that the Lord Jesus himself said, 'There is more
happiness in giving than in receiving.
